The Sickest Kits That Dropped This Week | March 17

Happy #SickKitFriday, everybody! Today, we bring you the sickest kits that dropped this past week — and a little special something from us here at KICK for Saint Patrick's Day, too.

Yesterday, in their Copa Libertadore match against Lanus, Chapecoense debuted their new home kit. It’s dark green with a striped pattern that looks almost ribbed and, like last year, uses bright and popping light green highlights along the collar and sleeves. There were rumors the kit would be sponsored by Qatar Airways, but Aurora holds it down.

It also includes something extra special to remember those who died in last year’s tragic plane crash. A label on the bottom right of the kit reads “Chape na Libertadores da América 2017. Obrigado, eternos guerreiros" (Chapecoense in the 2017 Copa Libertadores - Thank you, eternal warriors).”

Part of the French Football Federation’s new special Black Collection, the French national team’s new all-black third kit a la PSG of last year. That’s...really all there is — or needs to be — said about it.

But what makes this new kit sick is not just the kit itself but the exclusivity of it; it’s so exclusive, not even the team gets to wear it!While it was originally rumored that France would get to rock this against Spain or Luxembourg later in March, the official kit drop came with the notice that they would continue to only wear home and away. Instead, France’s first-ever black kit is meant to celebrate supporters’ culture, so we better snag them up.

Asbury Park FC, of previous Sick Kit Friday fame, asked its followers on Wednesday: “If we let Shawn Francis have his way and create a MetroStars-inspired third kit, which pattern would you prefer?” These were the three options:

Whether or not these kits actually come to fruition, they are all too sick to not include even as hypotheticals. Whether or not these kits actually come to fruition, they are all too sick to not include even as hypotheticals. However, Atlanta United fans might argue that their MetroStars-inspired kits are the best of them all.Keep your eyes out for whether Shawn’s visions, with help from the fans, become reality.

Here at KICK HQ, we celebrated Saint Patrick's Day with green kits from around the world — and one blue one with Seamus Coleman.

And, it seemed, you did too!

What did you rock today? Are you wearing a green kit out for Saint Patrick's Day? Let us know! And thanks as always to Footyheadlines.
