Why I Love Arsenal With Poet
In our recent edition of Why I Love, Comments Below presenter Poet shows us around the area in which he grew up and fell in love with his beloved Arsenal. In an area heavily dominated by Tottenham, Poet's decision to support Arsenal is only accepted by others due to his admiration for Ian Wright. His struggles and his bounce back from incarceration, Inspired Poet and many other young kids in council estates around North London. Before becoming one of the most vocal Arsenal fans around, Poet reveals he used to work for Tottenham in his younger years, he was doing some valuable work in his community coaching youth players, but in typical Poet fashion he admitted to ruffling some feathers whilst at the club, most notably, he was kicked out of the training ground by Glenn Hoddle due to an incident with an Arsenal boot bag.We also travel to Highbury where we learn of the memorable times Arsenal celebrated in their tenure of the stadium before moving on to the new "home of football" The Emirates. Despite not having witnessed as much silverware and success as the club and their fans would have hoped for, Poet recalls his FA Cup final experience and the ecstasy and joy he and fellow fans enjoyed at the final whistle.Our time with Poet ends with him describing his first Arsenal game and explaining the feelings he had inside the stadium, despite his occasional loud mouthed antics, Poet shows his sentimental side and really shows how much a football club can affect every aspect of your life.
