This Sick Kit Friday, we turned it over to RAYSBEACHCLUB who picked the 5 sickest indie kits on the market.
"1972 FC JERSEY" from 1972FC
1972FC, an amateur football team and creative brand based in Malaysia, is truly an inspiration behind the glory days of Malaysian football and commemorates the biggest achievement for the football team thus far.Malaysia’s first taste in Olympics came in 1972 during the Munich games while Mokhtar Dahari (better known as Supermokh) was considered one of the best player in Asia during that time. This kit draws inspiration from the one worn for those Games.
"SWOOSH KANJI" from THE CONCEPT CLUB
The Concept Club, a brand based in the UK, is all about “imagining a piece of clothing before looking for if it actually exists.” From that has come all their concepts, including this Japanese-inspired kit.
The ‘logo’ on the front — 希少な — “the rarest,” the Japanese flag sits as a patch on the sleeve, and the wave in the crest draws from perhaps the most iconic piece of Japanese art (‘The Wave’).
"THE TIGRE COREANO FOOTBALL SHIRT" from NIVELCRACK
This Tigre Coreano football shirt, also known as the Korean Tiger football shirt, shows off its Korean inspiration along with the iconic resemblance of the shirts of J League’s Kashima Antlers from the 90s. This kit is a collaboration between well known Korean football street brand Nivelcrack, which translates to “level of a top player” in Spanish, and popular concept kit designer Angelo Trofa.
Even better — the graphic continues on the back, too.
"NASA SPACE JERSEY" from THE CONCEPT CLUB
“When I first looked back at the Earth, standing on the Moon, I cried.” said astronaut Alan Shepard. Not everyone is smart enough to work for NASA, but everyone can definitely look good in a NASA SPACE JERSEY.
And this kit, or at least the white version of it, is no stranger to Sick Kit Fridays.
"OBSCR FC AWAY" from OBSCR
OBSCR, a creative brand based in Malaysia whose name is an abbreviation of the word ‘obscure,’ created a beautiful long-sleeved away kit that features a subtle geometric design and a lace-up collar.
HONORABLE MENTION: "HU NMD" from THE CONCEPT CLUB
The Concept Club's "Human Species NMD Jersey" collection was inspired by fashion and hip-hop icon Pharrell Williams and his latest 'Human Race NMD" sneaker collaboration with Adidas.
All of the above kits can be found on RAYSBEACHCLUB’s website.
