7 Football Manager legends on the move this summer

Many people have often joked about clubs using Football Manager to scout signings. Various deals this summer suggest that either this is the case, or Football Manager scout very well indeed. Plenty of the greatest wonderkids from different FM editions have been on the move this summer. From Ganso's move to Sevilla to Eder Alvarez Balanta signing for Basel, here are the FM Legends on the move this window...

Eder Alvarez Balanta // River Plate to FC Basel // Undisclosed Fee

If you've played any version of Football Manager since FM14, Balanta needs no introduction. The Colombian centre half has always been plenty of gamers go to purchase to shore up their defence. With technical brilliance and good pace, Balanta was always a must buy and a bargain for someone who could turn into a world-class defender in a matter of months. It will be interesting to see how the former River Plate man fares after sealing his move to Europe with FC Basel.

Ganso // Sao Paulo to Sevilla // €9.5 Million

Ever since his days as a wonderkid in FM 2011/2012, Football Manager fanatics have been waiting for Ganso to move to Europe, to show the world what they know he has in the locker. While he has made the move to Europe later than FM fans would have expected, don't be surprised if 26 year old Ganso really shines during his time in La Liga with Sevilla.

Andrija Zivkovic // Partizan to Benfica // Free Transfer

If you needed a winger in the last few editions of Football Manager, Zivkovic was on your radar. The Partizan winger could be picked up by the majority of top division clubs and could grow into a world class winger. If Benfica know what they're doing they'll play him right wing as an 'inside forward support' and watch him blossom, just ask your mate who plays FM.

Breel Embolo // FC Basel to Schalke 04 // €20 Million

The former FC Basel striker was one of the most sought after players in Europe this summer, and if the 19 year old lives up to his FM potential, Schalke have done good business. Embolo turned into an absolute beast of a striker in the last two FM editions and would go on to pick up European Golden Boots galore on the game. Bundesliga defences beware.

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg // Bayern to Southampton // €15 Million

FM 2014's golden boy, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg has made the move to the Premier League. The young playmaker had outrageous attributes for a teenager back in the 2014 edition and after spells on loan at Augsburg and Schalke, the Danish prospect has made the move to Southampton for a reported €15 million. If he can progress as quickly and as rapidly in the game, he could be a real asset for the Saints.

Viktor Fischer // Ajax to Middlesbrough // €5 Million

While the past year or so might have been quiet for Ajax's academy star Viktor Fischer, it wasn't too long ago that he was a must buy FM wonderkid. The technical winger used to become a world beater if trained correctly in FM editions such as 2011, and while his potential has yet to be reached, Viktor could well be a huge asset for recently promoted Boro.

Havard Nordtveit // Gladbach to West Ham // Free Transfer

West Ham captured holding midfielder Havard Nordtveit on a free transfer this summer. However, if Bilic ever played FM 2010, he'll definitely think about playing the former Arsenal youth product centre half instead. Nordtveit became an absolute rock on the game and his since proven his versatility at playing both centre back and midfield. It will be good to see Havard finally get a chance in the Premier League.
