Was this the best match day ever?

This year’s 12th match week of Argentinian football saw an unprecedented amount of derbies in a single weekend. The 2016 Argentine Primera Division season changed its format, after 2 more teams were added to the first division bringing the total up to 30 clubs. The tournament for the 2016 season is composed of two zones of 15 teams. Each team will play the other 14 teams in its zone in a round-robin style tournament and will also play two Interzonal matches against its rival team in the other zone, once home and once away. In the end, the winner of each zone will play a final match on a neutral ground to determine the champion. This season change made it so Newells Old Boys – Rosario Central, Boca Juniors – River Plate, Racing Club – Independiente, San Lorenzo – Huracan, Lanus – Banfield, Gimnasia – Estudiantes, and Union SF – Colon.  In the end, 5 of the 7 Clasicos ended 0-0.  Despite the lack of excitement on the pitch, the scenes on the stands were blew our minds!
