Just when you thought you were looking forward to the Euros, the most punchable face in music appears on your news feed.
It’s the kind of song you can imagine echoing around an empty dance-floor of a provincial discoteque, but the actual context for this non-music will be every radio station and TV channel you’re exposed to between the 10th of June and July.
New Order set the World In Motion for Italia 90, and whilst finding a half-decent band to record a Euro 2016 might be difficult, it’s not impossible. But when you can release any old shit and watch it blow up faster than Olivier Giroud’s 2016 nude calendar, why bother trying?
