“No investment, no direction, no attachment or love for the club, and no chance of survival”
All these things have been levelled at Charlton owner Roland Duchatelet.
The Charlton fans might have protested before this season, but yesterday's televised game vs Middlesbrough was the perfect opportunity to show their Belgiun owner just how disenchanted they are under his regime.
So fans, led a huge ‘funeral procession’ to The Valley as part of a day of protest against the club’s Belgian ownership
The coffin, said by protestors to ‘represent the hopes and dreams of Charlton fans under Roland Duchatelet’, was followed by supporters and 'laid to rest' outside the stadium where a moments silence was observed.
During the game black and white beach balls were also thrown onto the field.
Duchatelet bought the club in January 2014, but under his stewardship the club have plummeted and find themselves on the brink of relegation to League 1.
