On Tuesday 7 July, Atlanta United FC revealed their new name, logo and club colours in front of thousands of fans in the city. With plans to start competing in the 2017 season, Atlanta United FC are still undergoing developments on and off the pitch. On top of the latest information revealed by the club surrounding its identity, most of the attention is focused on the construction of the impressive New Atlanta Stadium, their prospective home from the 2017 season. It certainly seems like a club to look out for in the future. Atlanta United FC's owner, American businessman Arthur Blank, promised that "We're going to make sure we put a winning team on the field in 2017... We're out to win match one from day one, and go for it from there". Even Don Garber, the MLS Commissioner, admitted that he was excited and moved by the new club's big reveal. Following the reveal and explanation of Atlanta United FC's new logo and club colours of black, victory red and golf, Garber stated how "I was sitting in the audience, and I was a little choked up". This is yet another example of how quickly the MLS is developing into a league that rivals some of those in Europe in terms of popularity, investment, and improvement.
