10 Best Premier League Summer Signings

After a busy transfer window this summer there was a bit of mystery about how teams and new players would perform in the Premier League. Some have done better than others. Here is our list of the 10 Premier League signings that have impressed us the most.

10. Alex Song

As loan deals go this is incredible. When West Ham sealed the deal to bring Alex Song to East London from Barcelona the majority of the football world was shocked. What won't have shocked them are his performances since. The midfielder has been a major factor in the hammers recent rise. Quite how no one else took a punt on him is surprising but their loss is West Ham's gain.

9. Mo Diame

West Ham may have got Alex Song but they did lose one key player in the middle of the park. The tank of a midfielder Mo Diame has shown once again that on his day he can tear teams apart. Although his last few months at West Ham weren't great the Senegalese midfielder has rekindled his form since joining Hull on deadline day, banging in 4 goals in 7 games including a debut goal against his old side, and could prove a huge asset for Hull.

8. Angel Di Maria

While Man United's struggles of last season have continued, things could have been a lot worse without the attacking abilities of Di Maria who has scored 3 and assisted 4 since his big (huge, enormous, astronomical) money move. But then again what did you expect? It's Di Maria.

7. Gylfi Sigurdsson

The Icelandic midfielder couldn't have dreamt of a better return to Swansea. Gylfi has picked up right where he left off during his previous spell with the club, laying on 7 assists and a goal since his return. The Swansea style compliments Gylfi and vice versa. The perfect fit.

6. Dusan Tadic

The former Eredivisie star followed Koeman to England and has really hit the ground running. Tadic's perfromances so far have been a joy to watch pulling the strings for those around him. The goal and 7 assists from the Serbian have been essential for high flying Saints. The £10.9m price tag is pretty hefty for a player from the Dutch league, but so far it looks like money well spent.

5. Alexis Sanchez

The Chilean pocket rocket has really impressed. Following on from a strong World Cup showing Alexis has continued to show why Arsenal splashed the cash. The terrier of a striker does more than just score goals, his work rate is second to none. Add to that 7 goals and 2 assists... and thats a decent start.

4. Diego Costa

Yes, 4th. The Spanish (via Brazil) striker introduced himself to the Premier League in the best way possible. After Jose's rants last season about a lack of striking options he went big for a striker that could do it all. Diego Costa is that. Scoring a crazy 9 goals in 8 games, Costa leads the race to be top scorer. The reason he is not higher in the list... for 32m... you'd expect a decent return!

3. Graziano Pelle

What a signing. Pelle was coming to England with a decent record in Eredivisie but then again... so did Afonso Alves. But that's where the similarities between the two end! The Italian forward has impressed since his £8m move to the Premier League while he may not have scored as many as Costa, he has scored 6 and also has 3 assists to his name. 9 goals created from 10 games for 8 million? That is strong.

2. Cesc Fabregas

The assist machine. Should Arsene have signed him? Well one thing is for sure there is no better centre midfielder in the Premier League at the moment. The Spaniard has bagged his first goal for Chelsea and has an incredible 9 assists to his name. So yes, maybe Wenger should have signed him.

1. Diafra Sakho

Just think... you sign a player for £3.5m from Ligue 2 and he scores 6 goals in 6 starts?! Sakho has come from obscurity to the forefront of the Premier League in a couple of months. With 2 assists to his name as well, the Senegalese striker has certainly proved he is the Premier League bargain of the summer.
